- Are you open all year round?
We are not open all year round, we close from end of October and open up again beginning of May.
- What sessions and times do you offer?
We open from Thursday to Monday - May to end of October
£19.95 - Off Peak Sessions – Monday, Thursday, Friday - 9am to 6pm
£29.95 - Peak Sessions – Saturdays and Sundays - 9am to 6pm
- How many dogs are allowed per booking?
One purchase of one session covers one dog. We allow a maximum of four dogs per session only, at a cost of £10 per additional dog. Please note that at least one person should be present for every two dogs.
- How many people are allowed in your private session?
We allow up to seven people in a private session.
- Will I get my money back should I cancel my appointment?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Should you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your swim, you will get your money back.
- Can I carry my vouchers / bookings to a new season?
No. We do not carry a session / voucher / bundle to the new season. We are seasonal and you have to use your voucher / session / bundle in the same year you purchased them in. Session / voucher / bundle are only valid from purchase date to end of October from the season you purchased them in.
- Are your sessions assisted?
Our staff are in attendance to instruct you on the correct and safe use of the facilities. They are not available to assist with swimming instruction, looking after your pet, looking after your children or providing any kind of medical advice whatsoever.
- Do I need to get into the pool?
Yes. Our sessions are private and are designed for you as owners to enjoy spending time with your dogs and developing a deeper bond with them.
- Do you offer swimming lessons?
No, we do not offer swimming lessons, we will try to provide you with some guidance on the best ways for you to get your dog comfortable with swimming but this is a private session for you to enjoy with your dog.
- What age should my dog be to start swimming?
We do not have a recommended age as this is up to you to decide. Please ensure they are fully vaccinated prior to going swimming for their own safety.
- Can children attend?
As the sessions are private this is entirely up to you. All children under 18 need to be accompanied in the pool and supervised in and out the pool at all times and are the sole responsibility of their parents or guardians. Children cannot be in the pool on their own, a parent or guardian must be with them. Please take note that the facilities are for dogs.
- What should I wear?
We recommend a wetsuit. If not a full swimsuit/shorts will be fine but we do recommend you bringing a t-shirt as your dog's claws can be surprisingly sharp. In the colder months we do recommend wet suits.
- Are there any changing facilities?
We recommend you be ready with your swimming gear, please shower at home before arrival. We do have facilities available for you to change afterwards into dry clothing. We do not have showers. Please bath or shower at home afterwards.
- Is there hair in the pool?
This pool is for dogs, yes there will be hair in the pool.
- Does the water stay clear?
When we experience major changes in the weather, the water may change colour.
- How do I get to you?
We are located at
Fieldgrove Farm, Elstree Rd, Borehamwood, WD6 3FS - Just off the A41. (Sat Nav may want to lead you to the Industrial Park) (If you use Waze: Type: Canine Paradise - this will lead you straight to us)
We are not in an Industrial Park. We are on a farm. We are located corner A41 & Elstree Road.
Please drive all the way down the farm track, past the stables (Please don’t park at the stables) drive towards the Canine Paradise Residential signs to the bottom and you will find Canine Aqua Splash.
Please note you will need a gate code on Sundays only. This will be on your order confirmation.
- I'm not sure if my dog will like it?
Most dogs are natural swimmers although they may need a little encouragement the first time but most get in fine and swim around with a little encouragement by the owner. Once they have been in the first few times they generally love the pool.
- I don't know if my dog can swim?
In our experience, most dogs are great swimmers. If not we have doggie life jackets from small to extra large.
- My dog is injured or has arthritis. Is it safe?
We recommend speaking to your vet prior to booking them in for a leisure swim. We do not offer hydrotherapy. Again, If you are concerned with anything we would always suggest you ask your vet if they think it would be of benefit.
- How often is your pool tested and is there chemicals?
We run daily tests on PH, TA and Chlorine levels in accordance with the safe usage of our pool. We use Chlorine.
- What is the pool temperature
The pool temperature is usually between 24 to 30 degrees Celsius in the warmer months. Please take note that the temperature may drop by two to four degrees depending on the air temperature. During the colder seasons we do advise you to wear a wetsuit.
- Are you in a building?
The pool is in a Marquee, the air temperature in the cooler months will be cooler than the air temperature in the warmer months.
- Can I feed my dog before coming to swim?
Please ensure your dog has been fed at least 3 hours to prior to their swim, and taken on a walk before their swim.
- What is the size of the pool?
The pool is 9 meters long by 1.2 meters deep.
- Can I make an appointment to view first?
We do not offer viewings. Follow us on Instagram / Facebook and you can see photos and videos there.
- What happens in the 30 minute session?
Usually 5 minutes getting ready and into the pool. Your dog gets 20 minutes swim time. 5 minutes to climb out and get ready to leave.
- Lost Property and Jewellery?
We advise you to please not wear jewellery that can come off during your swim. Please take note that dogs claws are sharp and they can get hooked onto your jewellery and either hurt themselves or you. Any item that is left behind will be put into our Lost Property container. We will not be held responsible for any lost items.
