Darcie’s Kibble

What is Darcie’s Kibble?

Darcie’s Kibble is our own brand of premium grain-free dog food, made with 50% total meat content and a minimum of 26% freshly prepared protein, gently cooked using Freshtrusion® technology at just 82°C. No wheat, corn, soy, or artificial anything.

Why is it grain-free?

Many dogs struggle to digest grains like wheat, corn, and soy — leading to itchy skin, digestive upset, and low energy. We use sweet potato and potato as slow-release carbohydrates instead. They provide sustained energy without the digestive burden and are naturally rich in fibre, vitamins, and antioxidants.

What flavours are available?

We offer a range of adult and small breed recipes including Chicken, Lamb, Salmon & Trout, Angus Beef, Tuna & Salmon, Haddock, and more. Check our shop page for the full range and current availability.

What’s the difference between Adult and Small Breed?

Our Small Breed recipes feature a smaller 8mm kibble (vs 14mm for Adult) that’s easier for little mouths, with slightly adjusted protein levels to match the higher metabolic rate of smaller dogs. Both ranges use the same high-quality grain-free formulation with freshly prepared meat.

How much should I feed my dog?

Feeding amounts depend on your dog’s weight, age, and activity level. As a general guide, an average adult dog (10–25kg) needs around 150–300g per day, split across two meals. Check the feeding guide on your specific bag for detailed recommendations.

How should I transition my dog to Darcie’s?

We recommend a gradual transition over 7–10 days. Start with 25% Darcie’s mixed with 75% of your current food, then increase to 50/50, then 75/25, before switching fully. This gives your dog’s digestive system time to adjust.

Is Darcie’s suitable for puppies?

Our current range is formulated for adult dogs (12 months and over). We’re working on puppy recipes — join our newsletter to be the first to know when they launch.

My dog has allergies. Is Darcie’s suitable?

Darcie’s is grain-free and free from artificial additives, making it suitable for dogs with grain intolerance or sensitivity. Our Duck and fish-based recipes are novel protein options often well-tolerated by dogs with common protein allergies. Always check the full ingredient list and consult your vet if your dog has known allergies.

Do subscribers get free delivery?

Yes! All subscription orders ship free, every time. Subscribe and save on your dog’s favourite recipe — we’ll deliver on your schedule so you never run out.

How should I store Darcie’s Kibble?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, seal the bag tightly or transfer to an airtight container. Use within 6 weeks of opening for the best quality. Unopened bags have an 18-month shelf life.

Where is Aldenham Doggy Daycare?

We’re based at the beautiful Aldenham Country Park in Hertfordshire. Surrounded by countryside, fresh air, and open space — the perfect environment for dogs to play and socialise.

What does a typical daycare day look like?

Dogs enjoy a structured day of supervised play, socialisation, rest periods, and outdoor exercise. Our team ensures every dog gets the right balance of stimulation and downtime so they come home happy and genuinely tired.

Is there an assessment before my dog can attend?

Yes. All dogs go through an initial assessment to make sure they’re comfortable in a group environment and are a good fit for the pack. This keeps every dog safe and happy.

What vaccinations does my dog need?

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date before attending daycare. We require proof of vaccinations including kennel cough. Please bring your records to the assessment.

Canine Aqua Splash — The Pool (Currently Closed)

Is the pool currently open?

Our pool is currently closed while we work on something exciting behind the scenes. We’ll announce our reopening on social media — follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to be the first to know.

Where is the pool located?

Fieldgrove Farm, Elstree Rd, Borehamwood, WD6 3FS — just off the A41. If using Waze, search “Canine Paradise” for accurate directions. Drive past the stables and follow the signs to Canine Aqua Splash at the bottom of the farm track.

How much are swim sessions?

Off-Peak (Mon, Thu, Fri): £23.95
Peak (Sat & Sun): £34.95

We also offer bundle deals — the more sessions you book, the bigger your discount. These prices apply when the pool reopens.

Are sessions private?

Yes. Every session is completely private — just you, your family, and your dogs. No other dogs, no strangers. Up to 4 dogs and 5 people per session.

What happens in a 30-minute session?

5 minutes getting ready and into the pool. 20 minutes of swimming. 5 minutes to towel off and get ready to leave.

Do I need to get in the pool with my dog?

Yes. Our sessions are designed for you and your dog to enjoy together. We recommend swimwear and optionally a wetsuit in colder months. Wear a T-shirt to protect against playful claws!

What if my dog has never swum before?

Most dogs are natural swimmers. We have life jackets in all sizes and our staff are on hand to guide you. First-time swimmers usually take to it within minutes with a little encouragement.

How big is the pool?

The pool is 9 metres long and 1.2 metres deep, with entry and exit ramps. Water temperature is usually 24–30°C in warmer months.

What should I wear?

We recommend a wetsuit, especially in colder months. Otherwise swimwear is fine, but bring a T-shirt as your dog’s claws can be surprisingly sharp. We do not offer wetsuit rentals.

Are there changing facilities?

We have facilities for you to change into dry clothing afterwards. Please arrive ready in your swimming gear. We do not have showers — please shower at home before and after.

Can children attend?

As sessions are private, this is entirely up to you. All children under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, both in and out of the pool. Please note that the facilities are designed for dogs.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancel at least 24 hours before your session for a full refund. Bundle sessions expire after 6 months (10-pack) or 3 months (5-pack). This policy applies when the pool reopens.
